The Windy City Wipeouts, Lethbridge’s junior roller derby team, is hosting an information session with gear buy and swap Aug. 10.

The session goes from 1-3 p.m. on Saturday at Adams Ice Centre (1302 – 9 Ave. North). Parents and boys & girls aged 6-17 are welcome to come, learn more about the sport, how to join, gear requirements, fees and schedule. There will also be a junior derby demo, featuring skaters from the previous season.

Attendees are also welcome to attend the evening’s adult women’s game, where the Deathbridge Derby Dames face Indus’ East Side Wheelers at Adams. Doors open at 6 p.m., first whistle at 7 p.m. Tickets are $10 in advance through www.lethbridgerollerderby.ca, Bert & Mac’s, Culture Craze, Drunken Sailor, Blue Print and Boarderline. Kids 10 and under are free.
